Classic: 1968 Camaro SS Modern: Ford Cobra (I know you don't like Fords...but modern chevys can ) I would definately go classic if you are really into cars...it would be a fun project...more personalized, and nostalgic...go for the camaro! even though I know you want the chevelle...

Should a noobie install a amp and wiring kit himself, or get a pro to do it?

Do it yourself but just make sure you understand what you are doing before you set out and try to accomplish the task...not fusing the line could result in a fire and the loss of your car...but if you use common sense, understand what goes where, why it goes there, and are patient you shouldn't...

The vinyl looks real clean except for the bottom of the amp rack...are you going to straighten that out or are you just figuring no one will see it? Nice job with the design and construction... - Lost Cause

    Ohms question

If your sub has dual voice coils rated at 4 ohms than you can use your amp at 2 ohms wired parallel...if it has only one voice coil rated at 4 ohms than you have to use your amp at 4 ohms...unless you want to break something... - Lost Cause

Whats the deal with Memphis subs and amps

The company is definately solid, they back up all their stuff with a warranty, speakers are decent but not the best, their amps are considered by many to be in the top five...I'd take a Memphis amp over a JL or an Alpine amp anyday...if you go with Memphis you won't be unsatisfied...but I...

H.O. Alternator = lost Horse Power?

Assuming the math is right than that can only be theoretical...no wire is 100% effecient so with a 200 ampere alternator you'll really be losing 5 horsepower. How many watts are in an ampere? Do they even convert into eachother? so...many...questions... - Lost Cause

    Sub Material

Theoretically the best speaker (or subwoofer) would have a cone that has no mass whatsoever...since that is impossible usually the lightest and most rigid cone you can fine works the best... today most highend subs use kevlar (stuff bulletproof vests are made out of) sandwiched between other...

    Alpine 9835 or Eclipse 5083?

This is a little bit of hijacking but I think it's better than creating another thread on the same idea... What do you think sounds better...I know sound quality is usually highly opiniated but I would still like some ideas: Nakamichi CD400 or an Alpine 9813 - Lost Cause
