I also agree that if your going to learn about car audio business you need to learn it all home installs like speakers in the wall dvd set ups etc and so much more I'm wanting to be as versitle as possible i've also worked in tattoo shops and it's sort of a similar only the strong shops survive...

I do have a real job i'm a fleet manager for a trucking company i know must people think this might be a bad idea but i know people that make it doing all sorts of things so saying that doing car audio isn't a real job makes you ignorant educate your self

Well i dont' mean to be rude but i think you might be reading my post incorrectly it says WANTING TO GET INTO THE CAR AUDIO BUSINESS and then i go on to say i want to learn the basics and go from there and EVENTUALLY would like to start a business..... eventually ..... i'm just asking advice as...

i've been looking around for certifications to get and there isn't very many out there

I know stuff like that is out there but if i'm going to do it i'm going to do it right and the best of my ability i actually have respect for the industry and don't want to add bs to it and sale crap merchandise or do crap service for people.

Yea thats what i meant by breaking into the industry... i want to work in one first and learn.. and go from there as far as starting a business doing it i know it would take time and knowledge to do it my post was about just getting pointers on how to work in one as far as how to get into a shop...

I don't have any certifications as far as car audio goes....and shops as far as car audio there a tons in the DFW area I heard of a MECP certification is that something i should look into? in your opinion?
