been out of the game for awhile, need info...

So, I am going to try to keep this short. Bear with me.   I haven't been on this site in many years. I used to be very into car audio, then I was out of it for awhile.   The last system I had sounded great to me, Alpine head unit, Ascendant Audio Assassin 10" sub, JBL speakers. I thought it...

Infinity Kappa vs. JBL...not another this vs. that thread, right?

The best buy here doesn't have anything but 6.5 inch speakers on display, and they don't have JBL 6.5 inch speakers on display. So, no way to listen to them. Tried every car audio shop in town trying to find one that carries em. No luck yet.

Infinity Kappa vs. JBL...not another this vs. that thread, right?

I am leaning toward JBL based on the replies. The idea of harsh sounding high freq's isn't appealing... But Best Buy has the Kappas on sale for 53 bucks. **** car audio for being so complicated...

Infinity Kappa vs. JBL...not another this vs. that thread, right?

WRONG! Ok, so it has been determined that I can't fit components into the 4x6 speaker location in the dash of my 1990 chevy truck without making adapters for it...so I have made my peace with it. And I have done some research... And have decided based on customer reviews that I want to...

Fitting 6.5 inch components in dash of Chevy truck....help

thanks for the input, Louisiana. But I don't have the tools for all that. Can I buy adapters like that already made? Or do they have to be custom made for my specific speakers (which for the record, are 6.5 Next Audio components, that I know nothing about, and I'm not even sure are any good)?

Fitting 6.5 inch components in dash of Chevy truck....help

Figured as much about fitting the 6.5 inch in the dash, but my truck doesn't come with door speakers. Figured the amount of modification it would take to customize the speaker into the door would be a headache. I don't have the tools for excessive customization. I need something that'll fit or...

Fitting 6.5 inch components in dash of Chevy truck....help

I have had an old pair of 6.5 inch component speakers sitting in storage. I finally have a chance to install them, but I don't think they'll fit in the dash of the truck I have. 1990 Chevy 1500 extended cab. The dash holds 4x6 speakers. I hear they make 4x6 adapters to fit 3.5, 4, even 5.25...

    Projector for HT screen

Hey guys I have decided to use my tax refund to buy a projector to turn my apartment living room into a home theater. I already built a pair of speakers and have a sub, so the audio is covered, but my 27 inch tube tv is killing me. So I looked into pricing for some projectors, both DLP and...

Dayton speaker kit or JBL Arena Venue

Well I got some packages in the mail today. It was the Dayton BR1 kit and the 8 inch powered dayton subwoofer I ordered. The BR1s looked great, everything was there, nothing damaged during shipping. However, the corner of the Dayton powered sub enclosure is banged up a bit, plus one of the...

Dayton speaker kit or JBL Arena Venue

Well I took your advice, ordered a pair of the dayton speakers. Made a mistake though, forgot to get the shielded version, so now I gotta be extra careful not to get it too close to my TV. I will post back a short review once I get em built. Thanks LB

    No bass

It depends on how you have it wired. If you have only ONE pair of wires running from the amp to the enclosure, and then have the wires split internally, then you will need to get inside the enclosure and swap one of the subwoofers positive and negative wires. If you have TWO pairs of wires...

My apologies. This should go in the Home Audio section, and I did not even think about it. Sorry
