check your speaker wires for a short if that doesnt help the amp is malfunctioning and needs to be repaired. amps arent supposed to go haywire on you..........

no not the red terminators , although they are cheaters to . the one im talking about is dark grey and is sorta flat on the top of the heatsink. the thunder 225ho. it sounds awsome to be only 50 watts!!!!.. i would post pics but i havent figureed out that yet.........

sounds like its fried my friend... i have had one that done something like that , it would move the sub in and out without being hooked up to the head unit. and make even more popping noises when you moved the gain............would you want to get rid of it if you cant fix it?

i have one that did the same thing and it ended up being some output transistors blowing out. it would power on but no sound. i dont think the rca are to blame they are made of metal not like the older amps being made of plastic and broke often.. you wouldnt want to sell it would you?

mtx made a 225ho amp that is a cheater amp. it puts out 25 x 2 at 4 ohms 12 volts.....lol and 400 watts at 1ohm 12 volts. not quite a 1000 watt amp but it is very close......

hey, if your subs have dual spiders , i have seen where one of them could break lose from the voice coil and make the sub sound sorts like you are saying. it would play good at low volume but sound awfull at higher volume and if you pushed the cone out all the way it made popping noises.. hope...
