Gary, Thanks for the reply. Yes it is an aftermarket HU. I did check the remote out from the HU and saw two remotes connected to it. They were crimped on but I undid the connection and tested it with no luck.

Oh, so I should try to make the channels have equal resistances? I guess I was kinda worried that the HU wouldn't be able to handle it. I'm guessing that by making all the resistances 2 ohms that you don't have to turn up the volume as much meaning that the HU's amp doesn't have to over stress...
