Exactly the point I was trying to make at the beginning of this thread......Some guys just don't get it.

He has an 02 Mustang ....maybe the speakers are blown.

Come on....cut the guy some slack. Maybe he's using stock speakers or he doesn't want or can't afford an amp.

I want to replace the door speakers in my F-150 and I don't have a store with the BA in stock in my area. I'll be using the stock HU and I know the BA's have a higher sensitivity rating so I was kind of leaning that way. Have any of you guys heard both of these? I don't like harsh tweeters. Kirk

Thanks for the help Horsemanwill...I'm just going to use the amp for the sub and I believe the ReQ has a 40-200HZ subwoofer xover.

I want to install my amp and sub in my new truck, the amp is old school PPI Art Series that doesn't have a built in Xover. I want to keep the factory head unit and I'm confused about what I should get. The MTX ReQ or a 2 way Xover such as the Kicker KX2 hooked up with the Hi-Level inputs from...

It looks like it will be MTX. Nothing against K&B I'm sure they do good work from everything i read about them. But how can you beat a new circuit board for only $20 more. Thanks guys for all the help. William

I have an MTX 801D that needs repairs. MTX repairs the outside as well as possible including a new emblem. Does K&B do the same kind of repairs? MTX is $20.00 more but they will replace the Emblem (mine is scratched up). William

Thanks boomnblzr, that's some useful information. I don't have a remote but I'll check the RCA's and the ground. If that doesn't do it I guess I'll just keep it all the way up at least it works. Maybe I'll give MTX a call.

I just got the amp used so I don't know what the guy I bought it from did. I have it all the way up because that's the only way it works.

It doesn't take care of the problem because as soon as I start turning down the gain the sub quits working all together and maybe every five seconds I get a blast then it goes off again.

When I have the gain all the way up it's fine as soon as I start turning it down it cuts out real bad like no bass at all. I have it hooked up with the low level inputs and 4 ga. wiring. It's hooked to a 2 ohm load. I guess it must be the gain control gone bad hugh?? TIA
