Noob Q here but...I tuned my system to my liking (SQ) using several types of music on CD. CDs sound really good but when I switch to FM it sounds like A$$! Is this normal?

Just received my Hifonics Zues ZX6000. I was told it has a SSF but there is no control on the amp for it. Can it possibly be built in? I've never heard of one built-in. If so, is there any way of knowing what it's set at? I didn't get any paperwork w/ it.
