Set gains with dd-1 and it sounds great. Still lacks on the lower notes but once I build a proper box to spec I think it’ll make a huge difference.

Just ordered a DD-1. I’ll at least know if my gains are set properly and can go from there. This way I can rule out clipping or over powering the sub.

Yes I’ve had it out if the box and still puts off the sound, someone told me it’s bottoming out when outside the box but I don’t understand why it would make the same sound while inside the box. Subs recommended for a 1.7 cu ft box and mine is 1.5 so not sure if that would make a huge difference.

Something sounds loose when I’m really pounding on it while I still feel like I should be able to put more on this sub with the power output. Sometimes I can really smell the wood from the box after a couple minutes of playing loud.

I’m running an Alpine Pdr-m65 with a true rms of I think 725 it stated on the card in the box. Keep in mind I used a Scosche $30 line out converter tapped into just the rear right side speaker or my 2018 Silverado with stock head unit. Not sure on model number I can get that if it matters. Also...

You think going to 1.7 like recommended would make a huge difference? I love the sub it pounds way harder than the type s 12”, just thrown off by the weird sound as the type s never made it in quite a small wedge box and still pounded

How did you wire it? I know how to properly do it but that’s with a box for 2 subs. Positive to negative on both subs and do I run the remaining positive and negative to the positive and negative terminals and run a wire from box to box?

What would happen if I connected both sub boxes to the 2 positive and negative terminals on the amp while the subs are wired at 2 ohms? Would the amp still be getting 2 ohm load from both woofers?

Is it possible to wire 2 dvc 4ohm subs to 4ohms in seperate boxes without running wire directly from sub to sub? Asking as I don’t have a dual subwoofer box and I’m curious how I’d go about this.

I’ve inspected the sub multiple times and can’t for the life of me see anything that looks bad. It still pounds like brand new but on certain songs and certain notes the sub just sounds like trash if I have the volume up. The way that noise plays through the box is terrible. Anyone got any good...
