Actually it's a lot more than just glidetouch. The 9853 has much more adjustable crossovers, time correction, bass engine pro, 5 band parametric and 7 band graphic equalizer.9851 is still a nice deck though.
The 9853 has everything the 9855 has except biolite display and 4v preouts. Period! It just depends how important those two features are to you. I personally had a 9855 and exchanged it for the 9853 because I just couldn't justify the price difference.

What does it matter what voltage the amp is rated at, it uses a regulated power supply, which means it does the same wattage whether at 12 or 14 volts.
