20 Farad Capacitor and Battery Isolator

I would leave out the capacitors as well. And agreed that you would be better off getting one big more efficient amp rather than a slew of smaller amps. My only other suggestion would be if you weren't planning on it already, when you do your alternator upgrade make sure you run a ground for it...

    Control alternator

That is very much like what I'm going for. I just enjoy working with electrical projects so I was thinking i could probably buy the components and basically build my own version of something very much like that. My electrical system is pretty solid as it is. But the solider the better. If I...

Ordered my system! Here's how it turned out, what do you think?

Most silicone will have temp ratings listed on the container. Also look for something that drys soft not hard. If it dries soft it should be fairly easy to either use a razor blade or just pull it out if you need to later, the stuff that dries hard will give you more trouble. I'm sure your local...

Ordered my system! Here's how it turned out, what do you think?

As far as adhesive to hold it in, any of the things you listed would probably work, except maybe the double sided tape, that just seems unreliable to me, never tried though so I couldn't say for sure. I personally... as silly as it sounds... use jb weld for most things like that.... good luck...

Ordered my system! Here's how it turned out, what do you think?

Oh as for the method of making that hole bigger, I would maybe start with a grinding, or course sanding bit and see how that works. Plastics vary so much it is hard to say. Just takes lots of patience and a little trial and error. Just be slow and gentle about it to start till you see how the...

Ordered my system! Here's how it turned out, what do you think?

You'll most likely be fine, as far as the fish tape goes. I've just found it useful on some vehicles to help get the wiring from the deck down through tight areas, and if you are running any wire under carpeting it can be handy, not all vehicles need it. If you know someone you can borrow one...

    Noob seeking advice

If you have a subwoofer it is your source of low frequency. What makes a good system sound good is isolation from speaker to speaker. Your sub will produce the lows, and you woofers will produce mids, and you tweeters will produce highs. You dont want your door speakers trying to make bass if...

    Control alternator

Bump, Either its a great idea and no one has anything to add, or its a terrible idea and people don't know where to start tearing it apart? I'll eventually update and tell how it goes when I get around to it

Ordered my system! Here's how it turned out, what do you think?

Female quick disconnects can be handy for wiring your door speakers, however, i prefer soldering if it is a permanent installation. I think you are going to be quite happy. lol going from 2 working stock speakers to that is going to be night and day difference. With the kind of power you are...

Shop said that doing this would sound like Crap and rattle my car? Your thoughts?

Really with a newer car like that, and with the amount of power you will be running I can't imagine it causing much rattle if any. Having your music turned up enough to get a rattle your rompin mids and highs will quite possible drown out any rattle there is. I think you will have yourself one...

Drilling holes in doors to run front speaker wires?

I tend to over gauge a bit too, something about big fatty fat wires makes me happy, whatever floats my boat right?? Anyway, agreed that drilling your holes will take some sort of serious voodoo trickery, I would sort of suggest going through the molex as well. For saftey sake, you could use a...

SEALED box SPEC"D to Alpine TYPE X10???

Agreed, Materials for a box that size will be quite cheap, and sealed boxes are very ez, and forgiving to build. 3/4in MDF, wood glue, screws and a little patience and you can have yourself a nice box for cheap.

About to order online 6.5" components -- Out of these, best choice?

Seriously, where there is a will there is a way. I ended up cutting out mounting holes in my back seat. Put 6x9's in boxes pointing up though it. Awesome midbass and sound stage from it tho... totally worth destroying my back seat lol. Have them "temporarily finished" I want to replace the ring...

Lol they could be considered a bit harsh, but I love the sharp crisp bite they have.
