Jeep JK Wrangler 4 door unlimited stealth box

Nice! I faintly remember my JKU being that clean.... Is this Jeep going to see offroad? Are you having to worry about water proofing?

    mounting fuse blocks

I'm working on a bracket right now to bolt onto my battery tray in my Jeep. I just milled it out of some 1/2 inch aluminum plate. I'll drill a couple of holes in the tab to attach with the existing bolts.

    Clamps for box building

Yeah for boxes you shouldn't. I am always bending and twisting wood into the shapes I need, so strong clamps are a must.

    Clamps for box building

I use pipe clamps. You can get the 3/4 pipe clamp hardware for $13-16, then what ever length of 3/4 inch pipe you want. Grab some scraps of thin wood (or cut some) and use double sided tape to hold the scrap wood to the clamp surface to keep from marring the box, and these things can apply a lot...

Looking for tips. Fiberglass box building

The time savings of Coremat is that at 2 or 4 mm thick, you can save 4 or 5 of these layers...makes things much quicker. To make clean sharp corners, you need to use bias cut fiberglass mat. Or just cut a strip 1 1/2 inches wide at an angle to the weave of your mat. Layer a few strips along the...

Looking for tips. Fiberglass box building

I pretty much just use Coremat, It can be cut and placed just like chopped strand, but less mess. I like the 3M respirators with replaceable filters. That way one mask and you can get filters for whatever you are doing. A die grinder attachment for your compressor comes in real handy. You can...

Looking for tips. Fiberglass box building

I am not saying my way, or the products I use are necessarily better for box building. They are definitely more expensive, but less mess, odor, and work to finish out. People continue to use chopped strand and vinyl ester resins because they are cheap and readily available. I am like you, I...

Looking for tips. Fiberglass box building

Hey Kelvartis. I just caught the 10+ years as a carpenter. I don't know if you have spent time on cabinets and furniture, but if so you have most of the skills and tools needed. Between kerfing, bending 3-5 mm plywoods and proper jointing, you will only need to fiberglass the portions of your...

Looking for tips. Fiberglass box building

Well, I will disagree with some of what hispls stated. He is right that fiberglass is more expensive than MDF. However it is not awful to work with if you are set up right. You say you have contractor grade tools? A good vac system, like at least a big Rigid shop vac? Compressor and air tools...

    Detailed my car yesterday!

All Jeep jokes aside, when I do detail the other vehicles I am a big fan of the Blackfire products. They are pretty expensive, but work great. The paint sealer is awesome once you work your way through the steps to get to that point.

    Detailed my car yesterday!

Wow! That looks good! I feel like a slacker now. I "detailed" mine last week. Products used: A pressure washer and some Dawn liquid. Oh, and a step ladder to get on top so I could pressure wash the interior out also.... and to get the fenders back to black...Rustoleum Satin Black spray paint...

What component 3 ways will compare to old ads 641IS?

So the changes to my configuration means I will probably be hanging on to my Reference 405's and using them in the Armada. I'll need to come up with a smaller footprint amp to run the component set in the front, and the rear sound bar speakers. And of course one for the subwoofers. They are...

What component 3 ways will compare to old ads 641IS?

Well, I've started tearing down and mocking up. I am going to do the mid/tweet's in an A-pilar pod. A quick mock up looks like I have a decent amount of room for drivers from 2 to 3 inches. 4 gets a little to obtrusive. I am probably going to ditch the stock dash woofer location and build a...

What component 3 ways will compare to old ads 641IS?

Thanks for the information. Yeah, the Jeep is not a quiet listening environment, top down or up! But I seem to prefer it over our other vehicles. My Armada seems to sit in the garage most of the time. I have less than 6 thousand miles on it in the year I've had it. Here are a few shots of the Heap.

What component 3 ways will compare to old ads 641IS?

I agree with the "loud and clear". But during the winter I do put the top on and would like as good sound quality as I can reasonably get. I am by no means trying to make this a competition vehicle, but I would like it to sound good as well as loud. What would you recommend as far as speakers...
