Yes, the amp has 2 20 amp fuses in it. I have it bridged to power 1 10" sub. I'm not sure what you mean by the load I'm putting on it. The fuse does not bleow when the wire is not connected to the amp. When I connect the wire to the amp, then the fuse blows.

If I am reading the manual correctly, i think it is rated for 28 amps....don't quote me on that though.

The amp is a Kenwood 729s and the fuse is 30 amp....I have been using that amp for about 7 years now...lol

Good...thats what I was hoping to hear...could this do any harm to my components or sub or new amp though?

OK...I disconnected the power wire from the amp, replaced the fuse, and it didn't blow...I gues that means the amp is done... Are there any visual signs that the amp is bad....if I opened it up and took a look inside? I also have another question...I have a 4-channel amp (MTX Thunder 4244)...

That's what I had thought when it first started blowing...that there was some exposed wire somewhere. So I disconnected that wire and ran a new power wire. I ran it on the outside of my car from the battery to my amp in the trunk so there is no way the new wire got knicked up at all. The fuse...
