hello I have a JL Audio G-Max wired to 2 Alpine SWR-1022D's in a ported prefab similar to this design my problem is the amp get's very warm and the system hits a little to hard and too often, I listen to bob & tom in the morning there voices often trigger to much base while talking...

Is it safe to turn the amp gain control over half way? I was always told not to, but that was 8 years ago....my last system amp is a JL Audio G-max & a pair of Alpine R's ported box the reason I ask is because its just "ok" at a hair under half way up thanks~

JL audio G Max 1200 RMS anyone have one of these? I just got mine today, a bit concerned about the ventilation....there is none. completely sealed, rather odd. thoughts?

Remove the amp bearings and re-pack them with grease. Works every time.

you have a ford truck? Call your local parts store and tell them you need a alternator for the ambulance package, should be under 200 for a reman. No need to upgrade batt.

maybe I'm reading this wrong but the JL 500/1 would supply 250 watts to each speaker. which would be the min speaker RMS would I want something bigger or no?

ran a lot of kicker amps in the past, how does the JL compare to kicker? wish they still made the kicker SI series
