    Setting Amp

Hmmmm. Def sounds like a defective converter. Should never have to leave an rca unplugged if it is wired and working properly. Get it replaced then see if that fixes it all.

    Setting Amp

And your line out is wired correctly? Subs wired correctly? It sounds like a crossed wire, or maybe tye amp s switched to full or hpf. I lean more towards a crossed wire, possibly at your line out converter.

    Setting Amp

Does the hu have a switchable sub output? If so, is it set for sub out?

    Audio tuning help

Use only one xover. Either on the radio, or the best is to use supplied xovers. Dont use multiple xovers. This means leave the amp on full range, no xover set as well as the hu. As for gain setup, with the hu having 4volt output, gain should be able to be set fairly high. HOWEVER i would...

    RF Punch 45 35rms @ 2ohm very old amp

Produced in the late 80's if i remember right. And HIGHLY underrated. These are what really put RF on the map imo. Highly sought after back in the day for its small size and high power. Hence the nickname, "the cheater amp." You could hide mount this little guy and not tell anyone it was...

    Audio tuning help

The dimming is usually an indication of poor power and/or ground. You mentioned the ground wire size, but what about the power wire size? Fosgate amps are power hungry. Feed them WELL. Just keep in mind your ground size needs to be same size or bigger. Rule of thumb...you can never have too...

So many choices Please give me your enclosure opinions.

Personally, i feel that the single 15 in the right box will be more than plenty. And will still leave a bit of room for storage. I did an install with my cousin back in the 90's in his third gen camaro. These cars are hard to get good thump and still have room. He originally had two punch...

So many choices Please give me your enclosure opinions.

I havent messed with any of Skar stuff, so no opinion on their equipment. But i can say a subs performance relies on the right box made from the right material. I have seen high dollar high end subs sound like crap and get beat by smaller, low end subs because of crap boxes. I have also heard...

mid level amps i.e. ppi, planet audio, ss tarantula etc etc

Cheap, beater car, mid level pioneer speakers, so budget is simply mid level or less. Def not building a comp. 4 ohm load. 4 channels with a single sub possibility later on. The 5 channel seems right. But, im not into dropping money on garbage, so just looking for opinions on various options...
