thanks for the replies. the cap didnt come with any charging resistor. and i know, this stuff should be in the manual, but the manual for the cap was very generic, not telling me much at all. same with the hifonics manual. i do have 2 amps, and the cap all grounded to the same spot though...

hey, i just got a capacitor and installed it, but it the lights still dim alot, especially since i just installed a hifonics bx2005d amp. i know the cap has to be charged, how exactly do you do this? my amp is a monoblock but it has 2 channels for the speaker wire!! this is the hifonics brutus...
