    Amp will be a jp23 v1.5, HO alt is a 260, have a agm under hood and will have a agm in the back, car is a 2015 Subaru wrx. I will be adding a 4 channel later and I want the run to the back to be enough in case I upgrade later.

    Ok just saw you have a boss radio, in the sound settings if there's a way to raise the sub output level max it out, I'm sure you're not getting full output voltage on the pre outs

    What's the source, ie radio? Factory or aftermarket? Make and model number, you shouldn't have to max the gain like that

    The problem is he has the gain set all the way down. He said he has it set to 4v, that's all the way down. Now op the gain is not a volume knob, but I bet if you turned it clockwise you will start to hear more sound. Try that, just to see if I read it right, just don't move it to far and...

    What sub and amp kit should I buy?

    The l7r is not a 4ohm sub, they come as 4ohm dvc(duel voice coil) or 2ohm dvc. If you buy the 4ohm dvc you can wire it to 2ohm or 8ohm. If you're dead set on running at 4ohm you need to buy the 2ohm version and wire it in series to get a final load of 4ohm.

    Just needed a port about 25" long for a 6" port, but I could drop down to a 4" port then it's only 10.5" long

    It sure does, I think the reg cab and mega cabs you can get it out without removing the windshield

    What year and cab style of a ram? I know 4th gens the windshield has to come out to pull the headliner.
