No it is not stable down to .5ohm. it is only stable down to 2 OHMS and at 2 ohms it draws WAYYYYYYY more current than at 4 ohms. THis amp won't handle .5ohm load maybe for burps but it isn't meant for that.

I have a tantrum 500.2 and it is amazing i know the 1200.1 has to be better. I was thinking of a HIFONICS brutus at 1600W @ 1 ohm but i know the t1200.1 puts out 1500WRMS @ 4 ohms which is bettter anyways. Also i was told the brutius is 1300WRMS clean and not 1600.
