why is my engine and road noise swallowing all the bass/ midbass?

I was also skeptical and honestly it's still quite loud inside, but my main issue was the stereo sounding like crap while I was driving because I think the resonance of the exhaust was just making things muddy. Adding sound dampening to the rear seats and the trunk probably helped attenuate the...

why is my engine and road noise swallowing all the bass/ midbass?

Yeah, I was worrying that by reducing the interior resonance of the exhaust by putting sound dampening in the trunk, it would lose a bit of the growl, which it did at lower engine speeds during normal driving, which I'm fine with tbh, but it's there when you rev it out and I like that. :) I...

why is my engine and road noise swallowing all the bass/ midbass?

Alright sorry it was a while before I could get back to you guys. So I did add sound dampening under the rear seats and under the carpet in the trunk. It actually made a significant improvement, it didn't do much for road noise or wind noise, but the noise coming from the rear was reduced...

why is my engine and road noise swallowing all the bass/ midbass?

Sorry, totally forgot to respond, I've been a bit busy. :) Here's what I'm planning to do over the weekend. I'm going to sound deaden the trunk area because that's where it seems like most of the sound is coming from, and under the rear seats. Other people online who own the same model car think...

why is my engine and road noise swallowing all the bass/ midbass?

Alright, thank you. :) Do you think there's anything I would be able to do about clarity? I feel like everything is muddied up at speed and I can't hear detail as well, is my best option for this also sound deadening?

why is my engine and road noise swallowing all the bass/ midbass?

Unfortunately given how small my trunk is I can't even fit the 6 inch version of the Bazooka :( it's barely big enough for four backpacks. On the brightside, I don't think my woofers are "underpowered" even at freeway speeds. I can turn it up and get some decent bass for 6.5s at 80 mph, but that...

why is my engine and road noise swallowing all the bass/ midbass?

Yes, I do have a soft top mini and I'm using the 6.5 woofers. The speakers are already in a baffle actually from the factory, and the amp seems to have enough headroom so if I want bass on the freeway I can turn it up without it distorting, but that means I get an overwhelming amount of bass at...

Bad grounding? Buzzing sound in accessory position

Sorry I edited my post to clarify, this amp has a high level input, by adapter I meant the 5 pin connector that connects to the amps high level input, not an LOC but I'm guessing it would work exactly the same way. :D

why is my engine and road noise swallowing all the bass/ midbass?

So I just finished with upgrading the stereo in my car. I'm pleased with how easy it went considering this was the first time I've installed a sound system in a car, but I'm also kind of disappointed. The stereo sounds amazing when the engine is turned off and I'm sitting still. No exaggeration...

Bad grounding? Buzzing sound in accessory position

yup ofc, basically my headunit gives speaker level outputs, and one of my amps had a speaker level input. The input for the amp had five wires coming out of it; pos and neg for the left channel, pos and neg for the right channel, and a middle black wire which I assumed was the ground. Initially...

Trying to get as much low end as possible from 6.5 speakers...

Ok I disagree slightly with the other posts, I think it really depends on your taste for bass. I just installed morel maximo 6's in my car and I was really impressed how low they could go without even connecting the subs. They actually would go down to 40 hertz, and it sounded really full. Keep...

Bad grounding? Buzzing sound in accessory position

yes thank you, actually I had grounded the high level input on the amp but I guess I wasn't supposed to because when I ungrounded the high level input, the buzzing went away? so problem solved :)

Bad grounding? Buzzing sound in accessory position

So I actually took a closer look at it and when I disconnect the rca and the high level input the sound goes away completely... so I'm guessing this is not a grounding issue then?

Bad grounding? Buzzing sound in accessory position

So you're suggesting I take the radio housing, connect a wire to it, and ground it to the chassis?

Bad grounding? Buzzing sound in accessory position

Radio casing? Right now I have both amps grounded to bare metal, I thought since I'm using the factory headunit, the headunit would already be grounded?
