Get a good 12" sub, build a nice simple sealed box, hang it from the rear deck to save space... I dunno man, be creative. That's what this is all about man.

Ignoring polyfil to make up for airspace, eggcrate foam lining the box will help break up standing waves that would cause distortion.

You could use the XTC baffle as a form and fiberglass right onto it. Just make sure not to mix the glass too hot or you'll melt the foam. Alternatively, if you're afraid of that happening, wrap the XTC baffles in tape and foil and use them as molds.

This looks like a fantastic head unit that has all the features I want and more. Does anybody have this unit yet? Cardomain is selling it for 299.99 with a free install kit, free wiring harness, and a free "connector kit". It looks like a great deal. Thoughts, everybody?

It would be nice to have amber LEDs instead of blue. I've mentioned on other posts how much I hate blue LEDs. Not because they're blue per se, but because it's hard to match a blue deck to a lot of factory lighting. I'm not quite ready to gut a brand-new deck and replace LEDs. At least not...

New, of course... I can afford up to, say, 300.00. I'm mostly looking at Clarion units because they fit my specs, but this Sony looks interesting. Frankly, I need a CD player and an RCA output, that's it :P I own a bunch of old PPi stuff: in-dash EQ, 30 band EQ, crossover, 3 amps... speakers...

I'm considering this head unit for my Scion xB. Is it any good? I haven't heard wonderful things about Sony Xplod units, but it seems to have decent specs, and the big white dial kind of matches the Scion, and least the blue illumination can switch to red... which is still not amber

It's only visually busy. There are a lot of headunits with more buttons than that one.
