    Amp for 2 10 inch L7's

A friend of mine has (2) S10L74 powered by a RF 1051S which is rated at 525w RMS x 2 @2ohms. It sounds awesome. My 2 cents worth...hope it helps

    a Rosgate 501bd or a 1001bd

I think you may be overpowering them slightly with the 1001bd, but like Ricktc said, "NEVER RUN GAIN AT FULL" I have a 1501bd and burned the voice coil on my S15L74 with the gain turned all the way down. Moral of the story, too much power is just as bad as not enough. I would go with the 1001bd...

    RF 1001bd

The rockfords are definately underrated but not sure how much...I have a 1501bd connected to (1) S15L74 which I think is overpowering the sub even though they say the peak is 2000 watts, I had blown one already.

what amp would be recomended for a single S15l74?

I have the same sub powered by a rockford fosgate 1501bd which is rated at 1500watts x 1 @2ohms. It sounds great but I think its too much power...ended up blowing the S15L7 within the first week. I would say maybe the 1001bd probably would sound just as good without risking burnning your voice...

    S15L7 overpowered?

Area = L x W (1) S15L7 = (1)(15"x15") = 225sqin aprox. (2) S10L7 = (2)(10"x10") = 200sqin aprox. That seems pretty close, as far as cone area goes, unless its measured some other way. I will measure my cargo area and see if I can put in a box that size in there. (got to leave enough room for...

    S15L7 overpowered?

Is the 1501BD to much power for (1) S15L7 4DVC. The amp is rated for 1500rms@2ohms. I'm running the sub with the voice coils in parallel. (2ohm load) I have the L7 installed in a 4cuft box tuned ~35. I had the gain on the amp set all the way down but I still ended up with a burned coil. I...
