When I bought my first reference amp, I had a choice to get either the Exact or the SPL subs. So the Exacts were out with the reference amps.

Hmmmmmm.......... How about Crutchfield used to have they own line of amps. They were actually made by Precision Power. Or how about Soundstream head units ??

That is not the same model as me, but I have a similar problem with my Soundstream. It is a problem within the amp. Have you tried switching to a different amp to see if it was still there.

You said you tried a different amp ? What were the results of that ? Out of couriousity what model Soundstream is it ? I might have the same problem.

they make crimp connects in special sizes like that. Just look around or get better quality connects and use pliers or something on the gap to lessen it.

You can discharge it by putting a resistor across the leads of the cap. But I would not listen to them and I would keep it. They do more good than harm.
