well the ESP-2 would be the cuase of the noise, but not a problem, because 2 different units had the same result. I am getting the power source for the ESP-2 from the same as my Epicentre, which I beleive comes from behind the head unit. When you say check the grounds, which are you talking about?

A friend of mine has a cqvd7001u dvd player, and he managed to lose the remote while cleaning out the car. Now the head unit is not coming on, apparantly there is a security feature which locks out the head unit's screen until you enter the code, but guess what...no remote to enter the code with...
