I replaced a pair of 13W7s with a paird of LA storms x1 15s, in the same box, with the same AP3001D, and to the ear & meter the LA sounded louder. Beast of a sub, TC 3HP based.

The car is a hatch, a big one but a hatch so cabin gain can be good. New box will be 7.2 ft with 3 6" aeros tuned to 42, with one port blocked 34 for music. So, not really farfetched to think hitting 149s with 4 of this right?

No, you can't use the HU hp xovers to keep em safe. I have a X994, although it's a great unit, the hp xover only goes up to 250HZ. So wait for your amps, that would be your best option.
