You can use the USB cable instead. I have the Kenwood X890. Superb deck, and plug and play iPod control via USB. You can control virtually everything from the deck.

Well guys, I bought a 2GB flash drive (Sandisk Cruzer Micro). I got rid of the U3 support it ships with, reformatted it in Windows Explorer, and used Phatnoise to load it up. Works great! I even have voice prompts to aid in searching. Three lines of display. Rock and roll. But I didn't get into...

I just have a couple moments here 'cause I'm working, but no, I haven't tried anything else but the wife's iPod and this little 1 GB MP3 player I just bought. I haven't tried any complex searches yet - been too busy working thus far. I'll keep you posted if you're interested.

One of the most annoying things is that the respective websites do little to demystify the confusion. You can check the sites for USB details, check the online manuals, etc., but the explanations are either cryptic or not forthcoming. gordo
