    Amp to power kappa 1200w

Ah, OK. I have an amp for the infinity components running around 80x4 rms.

What would the benefit of using a 2 channel be? I don't ever plan in running more than one sub.

    Amp to power kappa 1200w

Sorry for getting confused, I just haven't been around car stereos for some time. Was just looking for and amp that will run this speaker really well, and I had heard my amp was ****.

So basically, buy a better quality amp that will do like 6-700 at 2 ohm?

Ok, I'll give that a go first. Thank you.

    Amp to power kappa 1200w

Ok last question. So running this at 2ohm on my current amp shouldn't cause problems?

Yes, smaller wire. I think it was installed with an 8g wire.

I'm fairly certain the gain is not a power meter.

    Amp to power kappa 1200w

The reason I asked about the electrical, is that my car was wired for an amp of around 600w. If I were to double that, I would need to rewire.

    Amp to power kappa 1200w

True, but I was aiming for a better amp that does around 6-700w at 4ohm. I mean I can run this speaker at 2ohm with the amp I have, but if it puts out anything close to rated power, wouldn't that be too much for the speaker?

I'm probably wrong, but doesn't it put more strain on the electrical system at 2 ohm?

    Amp to power kappa 1200w

Yes that's it. It does have the selector switch, but I planned to keep it at 4ohm.

    Amp to power kappa 1200w

The infinity was my first choice just because everything else in my car is infinity. I just had a hard time finding reviews on it.

Fair enough. Any other mono amps I should be looking at?

Thank you for the input. Can I ask why you recommend the Kicker out of those amps?
