Need a manual to Pioneer Premier DEX-P1R

I'm starting to agree with you. Sourced the service manual, but can't seem to find the owner's manual. How messed up is that?! Well, I'm probably picking it up sometime in the near future, if anyone needs a copy.

    Any comments on CDT ES-643?

    Best speaker for a convertible?

Funkybunch, you know your cars! My sentiments exactly for why I don't want to cut the panels. Plus, I get the added ignominity that Lotus provides zero support for its cars. At least you have Volkswagen AG on your side! What set of Bostons did you go with? Amp? azazel, you're right of course...

    Best speaker for a convertible?

LOL, b0mbrman! No, she's not going to sit in a driveway or in a garage. Cars are meant to be driven, not collected! azazel, thanks for the thoughts. I'm not going to race her, but on occasion, she'll get autocrossed. My purpose is to get beyond the stock Sony "underpowered kazoo" sound. I've...

    Best speaker for a convertible?

I'm trying to put together a system for a '91 Lotus Elan convertible and have had conflicting advice. So, let's put it out there: What's the best speaker (price not an issue) for a convertible and why?

    Newbie build for Lotus convertible

Hmm. Just looked at the Image Dynamics website. I think the horns will require me to cut the door panel. Given that parts for this car is very very hard to come by, I'm reluctant to cut the panel. So, I'm going to pass on anything but the Chameleons. Anyone have any experience with them? Thanks!

    Newbie build for Lotus convertible

Those speakers are that good, huh? **looks inside wallet** Eh, food's overrated anyways! Seriously, do you have any experience with them? My only experience with horns has been the Klipsh horns in soundstage equipment. Beautiful, super bright, super efficient. Do you think the brightness will...

    Newbie build for Lotus convertible

Were I buying new, I'd readily agree with you that $400 ain't nearly enough. The Zapco units are long gone, and market price on them is approximately $80 or so. The BAs are readily available new for under $300, the Alpine X-types are less than $200. If I go with used speakers, again, that drives...

    Newbie build for Lotus convertible

I looked at the CDT HD5. 4th/5th order passover?! Wow. The nomogram on them are truly impressive. But, I heard from a friend of mine who did custom installations that the CDTs sound great in a closed car but are pretty lousy in a convertible. Grr. . .

    Newbie build for Lotus convertible

I think budgets really ought to be elastic. If someone shows up with the Hope diamond asking you for $100,000 for it, you BUY IT! If someone wants to give me an Alfa Romeo for use as a daily driver, maybe I won't take it! For used equipment, I'd like to stay somewhere in the $400 range. I...

    Newbie build for Lotus convertible

Sorry. I think I goofed in explaining. Zapco Z100 driving the tweeters Zapco Z100C2 driving the 5 1/4" Thanks!

    Newbie build for Lotus convertible

Lotus Elan/M100. OEM door is 4" coax, 6" rear (behind the seat). All Sony, all POS. From other Elan owners, 5 1/2" speakers fit right in. I'm not going to cut up the door panel to fit larger speaker. So, I'm thinking 5 1/4" in the door, surface tweeter on the inside of the mirror mount (just...
