    fr125s

I do own a pair. They dont need that much power. I did see a graph saying that 30 watts is about as much power as you need to give them. I do not know thier thermal limit.

    Help choosing Tweeter

I was thinking the XXX6.5 would have a low crossover point, but not 1200hz. Humm. I was thinking of going three-way but I was going to try two way first for the added simplicity. If true, difficult to find a tweeter to go that low. My main reason for the XXX was the 2 ohm vc and the decent...

    Help choosing Tweeter

I need your help choosing a tweeter for my active set-up. I do have a pair of XXX6.5 mids coming and I need a tweeter to go with them. I am located in Canada so my selection of easy-to-get stuff is a little more limited than the States. I have been looking at Solen, a distributor here in Canada...

    looking to add midbass

I don’t know if have taken your door panels off yet. But just the cosmetic grill might be mounted to the door skin. Take your door panel off. I wouldn’t be surprised if the speaker is actually mounted to the steel part of the door. If I were you, I would look into mounting the speaker to the...

    Active X-over set-up Q?

Thanks Squeak for the read. I believe I get it. In other words, set the gain on the x-over as high as possible and the gain on the amp as low as possible. This way only the signal noise of the x-over and HU is amplified and not the signal noise of all three, HU, x-over and amp are amplified...

    Active X-over set-up Q?

I have a active x-over coming in the mail soon, which has gains built into it. Where do I set the gains on my amp, if I will be using the gains on the X-over for control? Max or Min sensitivity?. Or should they both be equal (ie 2volt on the X-over and 2volt on the amp for example).

    Speaker mounting brackets

oh, and check clearances with your window DOWN. Dont want to roll your window down and take the back of your speaker off if it sits deeper than your stock ones. Watch your wires too.

    Speaker mounting brackets

As far as you being able to do it, you never know until you try!

    Attenuate tweeters in component systems?

You can get L-pads that attenuate the tweeter, without changing the impedance the X-over sees but they need to be matched for the resistance of the tweeter. If you have a 4-ohm tweeter you would need a 4-ohm L-pad. They have a little knob that you can turn for the amount of attenuation. I think...

    What Tweeters should I get?

LPG - Do you mean the 26NA or the 25NFA. Has anyone hear these and can make recomendations on which is better (silk, metal)? Are there better offerings for the money out there?

how to - Building Kick panels **pics**

Thanks I thought of doing that two but I was to scared to fiber glass inside the car. Also, since I would be working on a vertical surface it would also be difficult to stick the fiberglass to a plastic bag liner, wich most people use, having it pull away from the car all the time. It would be...

how to - Building Kick panels **pics**

Just fiberglassing of the hole, you would loose your mounting depth. Second I was tying to create some air space for the speaker to work.

how to - Building Kick panels **pics**

Now to make them “sealed”. 1)I mounted the kick panel in place in the car. Using an old cotton sheet (with no holes) I lined the inside cavity of the kick panel as best as I could, trying to fill all the empty voids that I could use for air space. I left extra cotton lying out the hole to allow...
