Anyone here have experience repairing old PPI Art Series

I recently bought a used Ax400 for $50 that wasn't working, I found a local electronic repair shop that had experience with older amps and it works good as new. Cost me about $70.

    Anyone have a 96-02 4RUNNER???

You're lucky, I have a 91 4runner and my stock locations only fit 4" front and rear. I'm the type that likes stealth installations so it's not as noticeable to thieves and usually use the stock locations but I had to cut into the doors to fit my seperates. Can't even use kick panels without...

    I **** at wiring!

when he said wired too low he probably meant the ohms where too low for the amp to run stable How can a single 4 ohm sub be wired for the amp to see anything but a 4 ohm load? That definetly wasn't the problem.

    wiring two amps

Best bet is to use an inline fuse within a foot or so of the battery but my experience has been that most distribution blocks have fuses so I think a fuse directly after the distro block would be overkill.

Why put better speakers in the rear of your car than the front?

Question about bridging a JL 300/4

the reason you would bridge that amp ( or any 4 channel amp ) in that manner would be if you only needed to run, for example, 1 set of components and had no need for 4 channels. You could split the rca's so that the front channels of the amp are bridged to run the left and the rear channels...

    Quick Couple Questions

If you haven't picked an amp yet may I suggest the orion hcca line, these amps were made to run at ridiculously low impedence and not skip a beat. To be honest I'm not sure if they still make these amps but you can find them if you look. I see them all the time on ebay. If you were to run a hcca...

make sense to have diff Xover settings on single 4 chan for components?

Not sure on what kind of car this is in but I might run 2 different crossover points depending on where the speakers are installed. If one set of components was mounted somewhere with very little airspace and couldn't reproduce bass accurately you wouldn't want to send those speakers anything...

    6 -4ohm speakers to 4-channel amp

I'd probably run 4 speakers to the front channels of the amp (2 ohm stereo load to the amp) and run the other 2 speakers off the rear channels.

My amp is driving me insane!

The power cable to your amp connects directly to your battery. Within a foot or so of the battery, on your power cable, there should be some sort of inline fuse holder. It did not come with the car, it was installed when the amp was installed in the car

    Head unit installation ques.

Go to any car stereo shop and buy a wiring harness made for your car. Usually like $15 but well worth it. just wire that harness to the one going into your deck and you can just plug it straight into your factory wiring harness. Depending on your car, you may need a dash kit as well, also about...

    Rockford Fosgate Punch 300 Problem

You've probably already checked it but since you didn't list it, did you check the fuse on the actual amp itself?

Wiring A404 for 2 ch. stereo - Confused

That should work just fine. I also use an old ppi art 4 channel (Ax400) and I love these amps. You should be very happy with that set-up!

    Loudness feature on eclipse question

Honestly it's all personal preference. See if you like how it sounds each way and decide which you like. Some people hate that feature while others appreciate it. It has been a feature on **** near every head unit ever made so I guarantee you that there's plenty of people who use it.
