The only thing the Belkin does for you is charges the iPod and has another mini jack (that might be a line level? not sure) But how long does your iPod battery last and how many hours do you drive a day? I don't see why you guys are jumping on this guy, he has said is that a watt is a watt and with that with filters turned off you can't tell the difference between amps - is that something you disagree with?

It's your alternator that you should be worried about. When the engine is running your battery doesn't really power the amp.
