    which way are the subs facing? usually, in a trunk, rear-firing is the way to go. if that doesn't work, then you might wanna go ported.

    it depends on how you like your sound. if you like your tweeters on the "bright" side, then qsd's are prolly the way to go. some feel the bright sound becomes harsh on their ears. if you prefer a smoother/less harsh sound, then i'd say go w/ the hex w/ the silk tweeters.

    2.5 sounds a lot better than 3.25 cubes. it's more within kicker's "range". but if you're primarily looking for sql, i'd tune the box lower... say 32Hz-35Hz.

    you also said the box was "2.5ft^2". it's actually "2.5ft^3" which is cubed--not squared. like andytb said, normally polyfill isn't necessary in a ported box. but if you must, you can staple pieces of polyfill to the sides of the walls if you're worried about it interfering with the sub.
