That is my dillemma(sp). Still have stock alt, and battery, but did the big 3. Running a Jl 500/1 & Alpine f450 and my lights still dim. Not as much as before I did big 3, but still noticeable. Leaning towards a yellow top.

No I don't. I didn't put carpet on front of sub box cuz the faceplate was going to cover it. I can still take out my spare. Only thing I added to box was a piece of MDF to side of box to bolt face plate too. When I redid faceplate I used metal straps instead.

Here are some pics of my setup in my 06 GT. This is the back of sub box behind back seat. Those amp racks are no longer there. This box fit's snug. These next pics are when I redid the amp rack. I went ahead and flush mount them on the face plate itself.

I would do towards trunk. If you face the cab, I believe you have to seal off your trunk. I'll send you some pics when I get home tonight. That design BJ did is pretty awesome too.

That is what the manual says. Figure I'd post it to help diag my problem. I idle about 525-900 and drive about 2-3 thousand if I don't hit the pedal.

I sanded a little where bolt is at. I'll sand again real good. What kind of sealant(sp) or spray can I use so whatever bare metal is showing won't rust? Was hoping it was battery cuz lights weren't dimming till I installed the Alpine F450. Gonna get some readings from my dmm with music on...

I did big 3 using 4ga. I added the 4ga from bat-chassis, added pwr from alt-bat(left orig there), and added engine-chassis, all to same bolt on chassis. My lights are still dimming, but not as much as before. So I guess it helped a little. Car: 06 stang GT, stock battery and stock alt...

Sorry man, typo.....I meant the 8ga from alt to battery. It's an 06 stang GT and I can't find the stock ground from engine to chassis. When I looked at wire from alt to battery, I couldn't find a fuse, unless it's hidden in all that tape and loom.

Right now it looks like an 8ga pwr wire straight from alt to battery, but no fuse. Have a JL 500/1 for sub and a Alpine MRP-F450 amp for fronts. Lights are dimming. I just put in a 4ga from bat to chassis. 1.How much will I benefit to upgrading to 4ga from alt to bat? (I thought u have to...

Why not? I like it. To each their own. I don't have much trunk left, but it's a sports car and I don't use it for grocery's, got a little Honda for that. Don't really use trunk anyway. I can still take out spare tire w/ease. Trunk is not near being sealed off.

Thanks bro.....U DA MAN. Had to take off an 1'' from each side in order to be able to use bolts. Box is now 13 1/2'', but 15 1/2'' with the small pieces of MDF I used on each side. Talk about a perfect fit. It's still going to perform they way I want it.

Done for the mean time. 2nd amp will be added later this year and wire will be cleaned up. Didn't take to many pics....just forgot. Redid entire front baffel. Looks the same though. You can't see them in pics but the support arms are alot bigger(no gap between top of base and supp arms)...
