I love my H2 12" in a 2.6 cube ported box tuned to 30 hz. I am running about 1000-1200 watts into 1 ohm and in this box I can't imagine more power doing much good. If you want the Orion sealed (I haven't tried it) then it would want that 1600-2000 watts from what I heard.

Is this done with or still going on?

Not everybody is using amps with proper/accurate crossover settings. I prefer to have the ability to independently adjust my subwoofer levels from my HU without having to install a bass knob or any other amp specific device and also having crossover controls and levels within my arms length...

I would "presume" that they are differentiating the two terms - "output" which should obviously go the ported and "low frequency extension" which should have been better in the ported boxes but they must've measured it different.
