The 1200.1 retails for $800. How is $200 off a bad deal?

99 Mitsubishi Galant ES 2.4CYL 90amp alternator... BIG 3...stock oem battery group 86... Alpine M1000 + Image Dynamics i4500... 1300RMS watts total... I have no headlight dimming issues, but my current battery is 3 years old, has corrosion on 1 of the terminals, and I need new terminals...

Wouldn't the JL tax my electrical system more than others since its always running at 75w. Another reason why I'm not down with the JL is because in the future I'm going to get better speakers and will want to run my amp at 2 ohms to feed them, but the JL won't give me any extra headroom.

That alright, I was just getting a little lonely here haha I'm going to get the Image Dynamics i4500 and call it a day.

I can get the JL 300/4 for $150 from Craigslist or the Arc Audio KAR 400.4 for $200 new, but I can't decide which would be better. It would be for Hertz Energy Coaxial fronts. Looking for the smoothest, laid back sound if that makes a difference which I'm not so sure it does for amps, but yeah...

I was under the impression that batteries are only for playing music with the car off and for starting the car, when it has to do anything else it is because the alternator is not strong enough, is that not right? How much wattage rms are you running with the 90amp alternator?
