    The amp powers up and shows the power light. The protection light doesn't come on, but there is no sound. I have checked everything possible. My wiring is right. Like I said this amp is replacing another that was working fine before it came out. There is no chance I shorted to the amp case either.

    Connecting the main fuse at the battery is basically the same thing as what I did. I just made the connection at the amp. It was a small spark right when the wire touched the +12v terminal on the amp. I have had this happen plenty of times with no problem.
