what hz should i i use

u buildin the box yerself? or a shop building it for you? always a good idea to start off tuned lower, then work your way up if your building it yourself, its easy to cut a port shorter, but its rather difficult to make them longer

    rpms drop at idle help?

yea i'm trying to learn how to not screw up, and so far i've done a good job of not doing it, fusing everything properly, putting barriers between wood and metal(i.e. the amp and the box, there actually are 1/8" spacers to keep the amp that much further from the wood) and having 2 fuses on my...

    rpms drop at idle help?

no, i've been fortunate enough to take all the right precautions and never "burn" a vehicle down in any of my installs. but then again all the vehicles i've delt with have had healthy electrical systems(i.e. rebuilt alt's/newer alts, new batteries, and big 3 upgrades) i myself never did it on...

    rpms drop at idle help?

i was talking about a remote turn on lead, not the rca's, but alright and thinking outside the box, doesn't a hu require around 12 volts for it to even power on itself?

    rpms drop at idle help?

and if thats the case, and its well known that the amp won't shut off from low voltage, why don't you take precautions to stop that from happening, like getting something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7539467807&category=4660

    rpms drop at idle help?

i'd love for someone to make sense of the hu putting out a 12v solid signal if it isn't even getting 12 volts, if you could explain that one it'd make everything fall into place, please don't forget your resources

    rpms drop at idle help?

how can you prove that you had low voltage going to your amplifier? were you able to take a dmm to the battery while the car was on fire? did you have a "live" voltmeter in your dash somewhere......then no you can't prove it, and any amp that doesn't have a thermal overload wasn't worth much to...

    rpms drop at idle help?

if his voltage drops that much, there's something wrong in the car, and the battery will die LONG before anything is damaged. i HIGHLY doubt his stock alternator is that big, i've got a 130 amp in my truck, i'm running more power, and mine don't go down like that unless i'm at full tilt with...

GM Harness and AVN6600 = no room

um, whats the point of an ipod adapter if you have rca plugs in the back of your radio anyhow? your basically wasting money, a normal cig light charger would've been much MUCH cheaper.....but ok. anyhow, must **** to not have room...i could fit 2 double din hu's in my dash
