I just picked up a 1990 Cougar with the premium sound package. Are the wiring harnesses for the amps and head unit the same throughout all years? If i'm adding a HU, should i get the wiring harness that goes to line level wires, or to RCA's? there's 2 (or 3) amps in my trunk, but no sub or...

90% of the time on aftermarket hu's, the remote wire is blue/white. and make sure you disconnect the amp somehow if it's still on when the car's off, otherwise you'll drain your battery.

how are they wired in parallel & series at the same time? if its in parallel, one will still play if the oher is busted, but if its in series, one blown sub will turn off the other.

TPA - That's how i have my audiobahn tweets flush mounted right now... im thinkin of fleecing them this time to get em angled a little better.

how could i check to fix this? i actually put an amp for the front speakers in too, but it gave me actual alternator whine. and that's with the ground by the seat belt sanded 2 metal.

I have a 96 grand am sedan. it has 4x6s in the front, but the speaker grille is around 6.5" is it possible for me to either a) mount mdf where the plastic mount is for the 4x6 and put 6.5's in there or b) mount 6.5's on the actual plastic door panel. obviously secured with mdf....how would...

I'm thinking of fiberglassing the small plastic panel thats by the side mirrors for tweeters. anyone have any pics of something similar or any tips for doing this?

When the problem originated, the ground was connected in the wire harness. Then someone mentioned trying to ground it where the amps were grounded. so i did that. no luck. then i left the wire ran the same way and used it to ground the amp chassis to the hu chassis. and thats what it's...

HU ground, power, and remote wire are all on the driver side and rca's are on passenger side. they cross at 90degrees under the rear bench. got the one from walmart and it didnt do sh!t
