do speakers blow because you have too big of an amp put to them... or because your amp is not powerfull enough for the speakers?

ok thank you for all your help... i fell like i have a little better grasp on how this stuff works... and one more question i hear about lots of people having problems with blowing speakers.. its jsut cus they mess with the settings and screw stuff up?

so the amp would be where i get the real power out of the speakers? what about blowing them??

ok so it would deffenetly be quite a differance compared to stock if i ran them off of a new head unit? like how much of their total potential would be used running them off of a new cd player? and when do i have to worry about blowing them... not enough power or too much power to them from...

should i get jsut a cd player? just an amp? both?

i have a 98 altima... what speakers are better? im trying to stay aroudn or under 250 dollars total..

would an amp or new cd player make them soudn better than just putting them in with the stock cd player?
