Ty. I wasn't sure what the old decks had for pre out , hence the loc concept but I now see many with pre out so that's good. You said 2 sets preout. Is that 2 x rca or 4x rca ? . I have 2 x rca line in to my new head unit so not sure how to handle if deck has 4x pre out

I remain unsure if old school car cassette decks had pre-out to drive an amp or line out to goto another preamp. ( except the Sony that I can't find for sale) . My guess is that most were self contained units with tape , pre , amp and outputs to speaker. What do you think about a Line Out...
