    Type-R or Type-X

Well there's a lot of people running Type-Rs at 1kW daily but it sounds like they got really good unit on a good batch. It's probably not the case of each Type-Rs out there and I don't really want to take another chance, pay ~$200 w/ shipping and/or taxes and burn it again. Type-X sounds like a...

    Type-R or Type-X

I've heard a lot of good things about Fi Q 12. Does it get louder than a Type-R and play better? I might try to import it but it sounds expansive, especially if I need to find a good enclosure. I guess this sub plays better ported?

    Type-R or Type-X

Yep but I'm in Quebec and there's no local store with anything but Alpine or cheap MTX as I've already said. If I'm buying online, it's $120 only for shipping and I still got nothing. That's the bad thing, except if you know any good shop in Canada (that wouldn't add $70 for brokerage fees).

    Type-R or Type-X

I did it before but... I burned 2 Type-Rs too. One thing I've seen... My amp is 1000W either at 2 or 4 ohms. The 2 SWR-10x2D I had were different impedance. One dual 4 wired at 2 ohms. It lasted for about 6 months but there were always a really bad smell in the car. The other one, dual 2 ohms...

    Type-R or Type-X

I already know that but I want only one sub, 10 or 12" (probably 12", I guess it gets a little bit louder and hits lower). I don't have the space for 2 subs, I'm using more than half of my trunk already for other things.

    Type-R or Type-X

I've heard that Type-Xs aren't really louder in ported enclosures vs a small sealed enclosure. Would it be great to go in a small sealed box? Would the lows hit better with ported or sealed box? For my electrical system, my PDX-1.1000 was pluggued to a Type-R with the gain set to half for a...

    Type-R or Type-X

Hey guys, short story: I have a PDX-1.1000 with AWG 2 wiring in my Yaris and I'm looking for a subwoofer. The only ones I can find locally are cheap $80 MTX and Alpine Type-R / Type-X. I would like to know if I'm better matching a Type-X to my PDX or sell my amp for the new PDX-M6 with the new...

Needs a new sub for my hatchback

Final result: http://webftp.dnll.net/dnLL/public/000.jpg http://webftp.dnll.net/dnLL/public/111.jpg Sounds A LOT better than my 10" Type-R. I mean REALLY better. As for the SPL, it's a little bit better too but I'm not pushing my amp to his max actually as my wire kit is too small (good gauge...

Needs a new sub for my hatchback

This would be the perfect match: http://cgi.cafr.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350364312991&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:fr Sub/port up, so 14.25" deep and 16" wide. Don't care about the height. I would put it on the right of my trunk, so that the port...

Needs a new sub for my hatchback

Here are some pics. By actual 10" enclosure: http://www.dallasdancemusic.com/photos/data/500/alpine_sub.jpg Actually, the gray square is almost exactly 12 sq. ft., but this box is really small, not sure a S12L7 would play great if I cut it!?!? Yaris trunk...

Needs a new sub for my hatchback

Alright. I cannot go over 20" (width) x 16" (depth) if I want to keep my things right. The prefab one is 18" wide and 18" deep, which isn't the best as the sub will be right in the window. I own a Toyota Yaris hatchback. A hatchback enclosure would be great (I mean with a little angle for the...

Needs a new sub for my hatchback

What do you guys think about the Kicker S12L7? It's 750W RMS and supposed to get loud. With the original ported Kicker case for example. Good or not? As I'm mostly looking for SPL and this box would fit my trunk perfectly. Is the enclosure optimal for this sub?
