For electrical upgrades, I'd look at doing the big 3, add a battery in back and replace the front one. ( But remember its not always a good idea to just add a battery in the back. It can actually cause more stress on the alternator, and if the front batt isn't the same brand as the one in back...

There is no difference, the S3400 comes with battery posts and the D3400 doesn't. I got a D3400 for under my hood because I'm using custom battery terminals anyways and the D series was 10$ cheaper then the S series since it doesn't come with the brass posts. Plus I like blue over red
