If you deaden and seal up the doors then I would think the 8's would perform great for midbass. The CDT's are nice so if installed properly then I think it would be a good combo.

With that many drivers spread throughout the entire vehicle then you are going to have sound coming from different parts of the car at different distances away from the passenger(s). Not the best combination for true SQ. I agree to buy less and higher quality.

I know what you mean. My last setup was 2 15's sealed in a 4 cu ft enclosure and was taking up most of my trunk. I wanted that back so I went with 1 12" ported this time around. I am not disappointed. I think you will be happy with either.

You are definitely going to be close if not louder. Like you mentioned he has a much bigger cabin which is to your advantage. You have basically the same power and he has a little more cone area. Build the box right and you might even take him.

Was the W7 in a sealed or ported enclosure and what amp did he have pushing it? Also what vehicle was his in and what is yours going in?

My last setup was 2 15" Koves in a sealed box in my 98 GTP. I put them in facing back at first then I rotated it around to the front, then the way that worked best was facing pointing to the right of the vehicle. That let a lot more sound get into the cabin for whatever reason. I felt like...

What is your price range. I heard good things about Shure. The last ones for $500 have 2 dedicated woofers and a seperate tweeter. I know htat is probably too high but you might be able to find them cheaper than these retail prices...

More cone area with the L7's, but not sure with the same amount of power how noticeable that will be.
