I recommend any infinity speakers for what your looking for. I have a set of Infinity's for my front and rear fill and I couldn't find any better for the money. You can throw an amp to em' no prob.

JBL BP1200.1 if you're gonna use a sealed enclosure. I ran one on a pair of L5's with very good results.

My friend got the MA 4000D for $399 from Sell2All (ebay seller) and picked it up here locally (Lincoln Ne warehouse) and he ran it on a pair of L7 12's (fed them both 1000 watts) until it broke on him. I wouldn't recommend MA anything to anyone I've talked to too many people who had problems...

I'm not a real big fan of either brand, but if you were stuck on these 2 brands I would probably pick the PA. My friend had a 4000 watt MA Amp that crapped out on him while running at 2 ohm... Might be some reliability issues with some MA, although I don't think PA is too high up on the amp...

One of my buddies had a Clif Designs mono amp, not sure of the model. It sounded real nice, I think it was rated at 1500 @1ohm. Sounded pretty clean, seemed to produce rated power. Just my experience with 1 Clif amp.
