    Pioneer TS-w3002D2 vented enclosure

Hey fellas, I'm gonna be building a vented box for the pioneer ts w3002d2 subs and I have some questions. Per Pioneer's manual, the best SQ ported box is 1.6cuft (gross) with a slot port of 13" H x .54" W and only 2.5" deep (converted from the round port of 3" x 2.5"). Now I know this sub is...

    2 awg better

well, the 2awg DB link kit is almost the same price as the phoenix gold 4awg kit (on ebay), so i guess i'll just go with the DB cuz i know it's good stuff..thnx

    2 awg better

I'm gonna puttin the phoenix gold 1200.1 in my new sonata. it'll get between 1,000 and 1,300 rms (especially after the big 3). I know a quality 4 awg wiring kit is typical for this, but they all seem to come with 16awg speaker wire...and that seems a bit small to me. I was thinking 12 would be...

Kicker KX 600.4 vs Alpine MRV-F545

it's possible you'd gain a small bit more power from the 545 since the kicker is gonna be rated a lil lower at 12v. even if those specs are rock solid, yer prolly lookin at a 20 watt difference at best.

    quick question/need opinion

good choice on the kicker...the rms on that is 400 so the 600 @ 2ohms the alpine pushes out will be more than enuff and it is a more efficient amp on the power draw. a ported box will give you a lil more bang but also compromise SQ and frequency response. so i still think u should go with a...

Orion Hcca 250 or Hifonics Bxi1606??

galante's right about the jl500/1 being your best bet...but between those two, i'd go with the orion

    quick question/need opinion

alpine all the way, for pure wattage and SQ. ive never heard the torrent, but i know you can still get **** good SQ from the kicker if it's housed correctly. contact kicker and ask what the optimal SEALED enclosure volume is for it (not the minimum you can get away with that they print)

    why not a capacitor?

feel alot better about what to do now...thnx fer the help fellas

    why not a capacitor?

well, that was one long and detailed artical...lucking for me i was able to comprehend. so i guess im thinking a second battery will be in order. I'm gonna be running aroung 1,000 rms and i think the amp takes two 40 amp fuses. So should i just go with an 80 amp altenator (i think my new car...

    why not a capacitor?

I've read a few responses on here saying that capicitors are not the way to go. Given, i've never actually used one, but I was intending on wiring one into the system in putting together now (im tired of being short on pwer supply). I've had a couple of friends that used them (one a competion...

    a newbie needing an amp

wow...that's alot of power you need...i gonna suggest you look into at least a 2 farad capacitor or audio system battery along the way. anyways, i found 2 goodens for ya. the first is the kicker zx1500.1- it'll give you at least 1,500rms @2ohms. it's a $1,000 amp you can find on ebay for $370...

    bad profile amp

yes, unfortunately, the almighty bottom line typically makes that the case. They decide that its yer responsibility to test both channels for dc current before hooking any subs up to it, although that is a lil bogus.

Phoenix gold 600.1 or kicker 750.1?

    thnx guys

Phoenix gold 600.1 or kicker 750.1?

I'm gettin a couple of Poenix gold rsd12's (350rms each). The final listen guy at PG suggested a 1.8 cu. sealed box (per chamber of course), so thats what they'll be sittin in. The only question now is which amp i wanna go with. these are the single vc 4 ohm models, so i'll be running them at...
