Can I make this setup work?

Specs say 250 WRMS @ 4 ohms. The amp should have a little diagram just above the speaker terminals that says either bridge or mono, but you simply connect your positive wire to the positive of the first channel and the negative wire to the negative of the second channel.

    Amp cutting out please help!

Is the sub single or dual voice coil and did you have it bridged at 2 or 4 ohms? Also, how is your gain set? I would make sure everything is set up properly before installing anything else.

    amp wont read ohms ?????

If you place the DMM on the speaker wires as they are going to be connected to the amp, but NOT while they are connected, and you get 2 ohms then your amp will see 2 ohms of resistance. You never try to measure the resistance of a component of a system while it is connected to the system as...

Ok, so I got my new sub...now i need more help.

Ummm, no, not at all. A voice coil is wrapped around a former, which moves up and down in the gap due to the changing magnetic field. Hooking up a single voice coil at a time will not diagnose a noise on either "side", because both coils are wrapped around the former.

WTB: 4" Midrange from Planet Audio V63CK Component Set

I'm looking for either 1 or 2 of the 4" midranges from the V63CK component set. The glue let go in one of mine and the voice coil and magnet assembly fell out. I contacted Planet Audio about getting it fixed and the only answer was we don't have those anymore. If you have or know where to get...

Remember the "Poppin Tha Trunk" thread....

You just need an actuator (one on each side would be best) and a way to attach it to the arm which is usually a bolt through the end of the actuator arm and the trunk arm. For the sake of argument, in the right hands I guess this could be somewhat useful. Tim Bailie for instance at HzEmAll has...

You would need one with more throw but here is what you're looking for.

    Alternator tru or false?

I think what he's trying to say is if you have 1 dedicated starting battery and 1+ batteries dedicated to other electronics it's a good idea to have an isolator to ensure that the starting battery doesn't get drained, leaving you SOL. That situation is more of a "if lightning strikes" kind of...

    Eclipse Ti/RE MT Box

What I meant is the smallest space possible for that woofer, whether it be 2 cuft or 12 cuft. Just minimum box size and still have decent SQ more or less.

    Eclipse Ti/RE MT Box

Sorry, typo. I meant to put TC3HP.

    Eclipse Ti/RE MT Box

I was wondering if some of you guys with experience with RE and TC subs could give me a hand. I have a TC9 motor from a blown Eclipse Ti that I will be reconing to and 18" using RE MT parts. Any input on box size and suggested tuning? I have no access to the necessary test equipment so I...

This is sorta noobish but imma still ask

Agreed. Test tones and a DMM might be safer if we're talking mids and tweets though.

    another stupid question

Why not take the money you were going to spend on another amp and sub and just buy a HO alternator?
