    thanks Kiliam i sanded down the hatch motor ground like you said and used a slightly larger gauge wire and its working perfectly now thanks for all the help guys ill definately be using these forums frequently

    i actually originally had it grounded there but i didnt sand it down first. ill have to try that did you have the same thumping sound too? or just the weird noise?

    ive completely disconnected the entire system (minus the head unit) and rewired it 3 times in 3 different locations still does the same thing.
