I've recently finished up my audio setup and yet i'm still getting problems. I've had 2 different amps on two different speakers and they all make crackling noises, mostly in the tweeters. I haven't heard it in the woofers yet. After checking everything, my only guess would be my car not being...

Would you recommend it highly over not going active?

At the moment i'm really deciding on whether to go active or not, as far as how much better it sounds, is it worth the trouble? I'd either be going active with a MB Quart RA1000.4 as the amp and a Pioneer 80prs as the headunit. If I didn't go active i'd add 6x9's to the back deck of my car.

also, what frequency's the woofers and tweeters play till or should be set to.

I was wondering what the rms rating of the tweeters are, getting a new MB Quart RA1000.4 and running active.

alright, I'm not sure if its the ground because my sub amp has the same ground and has had 0 problems. I'm gonna check all the connections and make sure sure there's contact and solid connections. Thank you for all the help btw

I tested it with rca cables from the phone with the aux cable and there was still distortion (a lot) would that mean the problem is the amp?

Yeah that's what I meant :p Thank you though i'll see if I have someone and try that. If it doesn't work then it's the amp most likely? Assuming I do this after I check my grounds and make sure there's no interference with my crossovers and everything's snug?

I'll check all my grounds today, hopefully it's that, if not i'll try changing where my crossover is mounted. See if I can get it mounted under my seat rather than in the door panel, unless speaker wire wouldn't create interference for the crossover?

How would I do that? aux to rca style outputs?

It's a rockford t400-2, bought brand new

The problem is on both sides, I just think I hear the right mid more. I left it as is and listened and they distorted, and I swapped the inputs and they both still distorted. Would it be the amp most likely? Could it be a power issue maybe?
