How Do You Calculate Volume For Fiberglass Enclosures?

meaning, you could just fiberglass around a little opening hole, and just put one of those plastic ports with a tube attached on the inside in the hole? I thought you have to more than that for an effective port, a lot of the ported boxes i've seen have wood screwed into the sides of the box...

ok, for example, I use this ( http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/PHOR804 ) multi-channel amp to power my full-range speakers. it says: Dual continuously variable 12 dB / octave high- or low-pass crossovers, meaning a high-pass for the full-range guys, I'm guessing? and then it also has pre-amp...

add another question to the mix: if I want to add a multi-channel amp for my full-range speakers, is a crossover really necessary? or can i just use the pre-amp outputs on the multi-channel (or vice versa; on the mono block). thanks!

so whats the benefit of dual coil over single coil? just to be able to change the ohms? for a similar price; the octane-R high-end amp looks good. Not 1-ohm stable, but if it can put out the same power @ 2ohms, whats the point of spending all that extra money to power a 1-ohm system at the same...

single vs dual coil? are the duals much louder? you're right, if I were doing single coil I would want the higher rating @ 2ohms. edit: spelling

is there really a huge difference in SPL (for the enclosure type I'm considering) between a 10" and a 12". Double coils sounds like the way I'm going to go.

oh, another question; sorry if the answers are somewhere in the faq but I didnt see anything quite similiar to what I'm curious of. If I get the BX1000 (or BX 1500 for that matter) would it be better to run two single 4ohm woofers, two double 4ohm woofers, or two 2ohm woofers. thanks!

The QX has half the wattage rating, 125 and 250. Theres no way you can get a quality sub for 42 dollars anyway, unless you're buying it from someone who "got it after it fell off the truck." How do you think the tantrum-x sub would go in a bigger box though? My sealed enclosure is likely to be...

quick follow up - I havent taken a look at any amps up close, but are there more than one terminal for parallel hookup of more than one subwoofer? Also, I see a lot of you like Resonant Engineering stuff, but what other brands do you guys like? I'm going to probably go with a 2 sub system, both...

Hey guys, I've been reading this forum for awhile and got inspired to do my own system after seeing a bunch of pictures on these forums (that and my buddy also just put in a sweet system and I need that kind of bass in my own car). That being said, theres something about sub amps that is sort of...
