vega v-max 12's would be my choice, i have the 2004 model of the v-max 12svc and i am very impressed with thier performance. they have a good spl and sql in a spec. ported box, you get the thump and the tight, clear bass, all in one package:)

i have 4 v-max 12 SVC running off of 2 EXL-1000D amps, and they are awesomely performing subs, deffinatly a good choice. just make sure you get your boxes and ports right;)

it wont damage the speaker, for say, with that box you are getting about 3.4 cu ft. and if the sub calls for 4.7 cu ft you will not feel the full potential of the sub, this usually means loss of spl and your amp will have to work harder to move the sub in a smaller enclosure. also dont forget...
