Help on what amp to purchase *Experts Please*

If I'm understanding you correctly, you have push terminals on your box. Then you took the terminals apart, and wired directly to your amp. That said, you need to make sure you put silicone to fill the holes where your wires were attached. If you don't do that, and you have holes that are...

    Please help!... Noob Alert!

You can also have a higher distortion factor at 2 Ohms vs 4 Ohms. If I'm not mistaken, a lot of the SQ competitors drive their speakers at the 4 Ohm load because of that reason. I could be wrong on that one though.

Help on what amp to purchase *Experts Please*

First off, it sounds to me like your amp is being driven below its intended Ohm rating. Make sure that if the amp says it is 2 Ohm stable, you are running your subs at 2 Ohms, and not 1 Ohm. Without giving the Ohm ratings of the woofers, and how you have them wired, its hard to tell for sure. If...

how do I get 2ohm for my subs

Basically, whatever Ohm load you wire to the amp is what the amp will put out. For example, if you have one dual 2 Ohm woofer, and you wire it in parallel, the amp will "see" a 1 Ohm load. That said, the amp will run in a 1 Ohm capacity. Currently, there are no amps on the market where you can...

What is correct way to wire Alpine Type R sub to 2 ohms? Pics attached

First picture is correct. If you have an Digital Multimeter (DMM), set it to the Ohms position, and connect your leads to the wires without them being connected to the amp. You should right around 2 Ohms.

Sub amp randomly cuts out, yet will work after the car is restarted

Sounds to me like your ground is bad. Make sure you have taken all of the paint off the area, and are seeing bare metal. Another thing is that some vehicles don't have a metal body, but if you are using a factory bolt, it still connects to the chassis. If you have access to a Digital Multimeter...
