Thank you. So, I looked at those. Some can be into the thousands of dollars for the expensive product, doing the whole car. Can anyone give a guess for the cost of doing it on the cheap and doing it yourself, of course? Seems like a good project for the aficionado. I wish it would become...

Well, if that's true, then there's a solution. That'd be great. It doesn't stop the occupant from being able to hear emergency sirens, but that's not my personal problem. Thanks for reply. Got any links to such deadening systems or what have you? I can't quite picture it.

Maybe. But I wonder if this deadening stops the bass transmission? I doubt it, and the bass is a bigger problem than the top of the music. Generally, the top is inaudible while the bass is physically invasive. I'd think people would be more proud of silent stealth than a bunch of clattering...

Well, who wouldn't be offended by a bunch of swearing and bragging about being a dope or into it (not exactly what they say, but kinda.) A lot of rap sounds violent and expresses violence. Now Public Enemy, they had a conscience. Anger, righteous anger. That's valid. BUt it's not about the...

You make a good point. But I think also this kind of noise now needs to be kept out of residential areas. There are so many people with boom cars that it is not just one loud asskickin macho racket per day or something, but consists of frequent interruptions, more than one per hour. Those of...

    subs that people will hear

Thanks for the links. There are lines we have to draw and respect in order to coexist in society. The world is crowded. I wish more subwoofer/car audio aficionados understood this. Clearly, the ones that do don't capture public attention. -b

Check this out this is so gay!

IT should be enforced on modified muffler noise, too, I totally agree. Up here in Canada, those crappy farting Harley type muffler modifications are popular on the types of cars that often have subwoofers, too, unfortunately. Any nuisance noise should be targetted. -b

I don't care about the date of the thread. It was a thread with a topic that interested me. I guess it's on the web site for a reason, huh? -b

Yup, I agree. I wasn't saying noisy clattery farting-camel Harleys are okay. A motorcycle can be reasonable transportation or a stupid noisemaker. The Harleys tend to be the latter category. Wow, the bikers complain about your bass, huh? Nice. -b

Sounds good to me. Direct the energy of your subwoofer to yourself, so you get teh benefit. There is no reason why I should feel vibration in my house or my body a couple hundred feet away. Leakage is tacky. -b

The difference is: 1/ no jet fighters except during war time, which I have not experienced, nor should be subjected to in my daily life. Why should you be allowed to do the equivalent of wage war on my peace and quiet? YOu don't seem to understand that the right to the quiet enjoyment of MY...

    take pity

Please... Do a favour to people who live where you drive... and don't have your subwoofer on when you drive by their home. It's annoying, distracting, and... makes me think the person is a juvenile *******, when probably they aren't. Probably they just never thought they might be disturbing...
